I currently have Vista, but when I try to log on to any of my accounts (including the administrator) I get the message “The User Profile Service service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded. ” Safe mode doesn’t work. System Restore doesn’t work. I want to try Ubuntu. Is there a way to install it without logging on to a profile? If not, I’m screwed.

I currently have Vista but I now get an error message when I try to log on saying that my user profile couldn’t be loaded or found or something. I tried System Restore but it failed. I’m not very familiar with Ubuntu or Linux. I don’t want to pay for a new copy of Windows right now. Would downloading and using the new version of Ubuntu be practical for me in my situation? Would it be very difficult for me to get used to after using pretty much only Windows Operating Systems?

@Dreambro1 Hey dude, I booted it on a wiped HD today. You’ll need access to another computer/burner. But you go to ubuntu(dot)com, and DL the file. Then follow the instructions on ubuntu website to burn the disk properly so it opens as an image file( I used a Mac, to burn ubuntu for my PC, worked great). Then simply put the CD in, and reboot/boot from CD. . then relax and follow the easy instructions. PS, find your Computer screen CD(driver), cause youll want to have nice resolution. good luck!
